Newbee, a Chinese Dota 2 team organization, has been indefinitely banned from participating in various events including the CDA-DPL Professional League and IMBATVMarsTV tournaments. This decision comes as a result of their involvement in match-fixing activities.

This announcement was made publicly through official Weibo accounts by both China's Dota 2 Professional Association CDA and tournament organizer ImbaTV on May 15th, 2020.

The team members responsible for this scandal are L “Fonte” Xingyu, Yin “Aq” Rui, Wen “Wizard” Lipeng, Yan “Wxi” Chao, Zeng “Fth” Hongda and Xu “Moogy” Han. They have been banned from all CDA-hosted events and ImbaTV's platforms for life.

In addition to this punishment, the organization itself lost its status as a member of the CDA due to mismanagement issues. The CDA was unable to control Newbee's development team named Newbee.Young; these members participated in online tournaments using multiple accounts without proper name authentication and didn't have formal contracts with their parent company.

The detls of this scandal were reported by the CDA to Valve Corporation, the developer of Dota 2, as well as its Chinese publisher Perfect World.

As part of ImbaTV's commitment to mntning fr competition in esports, it stressed that it did not provide a platform for unfr practices and ints to uphold transparency and frness within Chinese Dota 2 events.

Newbee was once a powerhouse, boasting victories at The International TI in 2014 and reaching the TI7 finals. Its players Fth Hongda and Moogy Han were both part of teams that won or finished second in previous TIs.

As for Valve's stance on this incident, they have not issued any official statement yet regarding potential sanctions agnst Newbee and its involved players.
