League of Legends: LCS Spring Split Playoffs Broadcast on ESPN for the First Time

League of Legs has found a new home at ESPN, as Riot Games and the network have partnered to showcase the 2020 League of Legs Championship Series LCS Spring Split Playoffs. The event will be red on ESPN2 or through the ESPN app, with all matches immediately avlable for on-demand streaming in the ESPN app following completion.

We're excited to collaborate with Riot Games and pioneer innovative content opportunities around this remarkable franchise, sd John Lasker, Vice President of Digital Programming at ESPN. By featuring one of the most popular esports globally, we can reach out to new audiences through the LCS' Spring Split playoffs.

The LCS Spring Split playoffs commenced on April 3rd and 4th with six top teams competing for a spot in the grand final scheduled for April 19th. The winner will be crowned the new champion of North America and go on to represent it at the Mid-Season Invitational in July, competing agnst world-class teams.

Coming together to watch elite competitive gaming now has more significance than ever, sd Chris Greeley, LCS Commissioner at Riot Games. We are excited about this partnership that will bring the best of the LCS to new viewers and dedicated fans, allowing us to crown a new Spring champion.

ESPN2 joined coverage on April 11th starting at 4 p.m., followed by Evil GeniusesCloud9 vs. 100 ThievesTSM, with subsequent matches scheduled for April 12th, 18th and 19th.
